Mega Veterans Rally Held as Army Deepens Engagement with Ex-Servicemen Community

In close collaboration with the State and District Administrations of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the Spearhead Division of Spearcorps organized a massive Veterans Rally on April 26, 2026. Over 1,500 veterans, Veer Naris, active troops, Next of Kin (NOKs), and dependents participated in the ceremony, demonstrating the close ties between the military and its veteran community. Reaching out to veterans and addressing important issues, such as irregular pension disbursements, land and legal issues, and other difficulties experienced by veterans and their families, was the main goal of the demonstration.

As the Chief Guest, Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd), the Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, spoke to the assembly. Veterans were actively assisted in resolving their complaints by representatives from the Rajya Sainik Board Itanagar, Zila Sainik Welfare Offices of Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur, PCDA Guwahati, ECHS, Record Offices, state and district administration officials, government agencies, and various banks present at the venue. Additionally, the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) educated veterans about reemployment prospects, second career paths, and resettlement programs.

To address guests’ healthcare needs, a thorough medical camp was planned. The Chief Guest honored Veer Naris, Veer Matas, Veer Putris, special children, and notable veteran achievers on this occasion for their achievements and tenacity. The Hon’ble Governor emphasized in his speech the tremendous sacrifices made by warriors serving their country and the priceless contributions of veterans. He also discussed welfare programs and pension-related topics, praising the civil administration’s unwavering support in organizing the demonstration.

A cultural production showcasing young enthusiasm and patriotic fervor was delivered by Sainik School Ruksin pupils and NCC cadets, adding vitality to the gathering. The demonstration turned out to be a noteworthy effort to address the everyday difficulties that veterans and Veer Naris endure. It strengthened the Army’s and civil administration’s dedication to the welfare of the veteran community and offered a direct channel for communication with authorities. The event ended with great success, building ties with the veteran fraternity and having a long-lasting positive effect on all attendees.
