Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Backs Upcoming Revival and Healing Festival

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has officially extended his support to the upcoming Sikkim Revival and Healing Festival, a major spiritual gathering scheduled to take place in the capital next week. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister met with the event’s organizing committee at his official residence, where he expressed his confidence in the festival’s success and its role in promoting social harmony within the Himalayan state.

The delegation, which briefed the Chief Minister on the event’s preparations, was led by Minister G. T. Dhungel and Political Secretary Jacob Khaling. Organised by the Sikkim Pentecostal Church Council, the three-day festival is set to run from May 11 to May 13 at the iconic Paljor Stadium. The Chief Minister shared highlights of the meeting on social media, emphasizing the government’s best wishes for the organisers and participants.

The Sikkim Revival and Healing Festival is expected to draw a significant crowd, bringing together members of the Christian community not only from across Sikkim’s districts but also from neighboring states. The program will feature a diverse lineup, including focused prayer sessions, spiritual discourses, and gospel music performances. Additionally, community outreach activities are planned as a core component of the three-day event, emphasizing a message of service and unity.

Such gatherings hold deep significance for the state’s Christian community, serving as essential platforms for spiritual rejuvenation and community bonding. Beyond the religious context, these festivals are viewed as vital social hubs where religious leaders, youth groups, and worshippers from various backgrounds can engage in cultural interaction. By fostering a sense of collective prayer and peace, the festival aims to strengthen the fabric of social harmony that defines Sikkim.

As Gangtok prepares for the influx of visitors next week, the Chief Minister’s endorsement underscores the state’s commitment to supporting inclusive cultural and spiritual expressions. With the final logistics being put in place at Paljor Stadium, the “Revival and Healing” theme is poised to offer a message of hope and resilience to the thousands expected to attend.
