LTIMindtree bags $330 million contract

LTIMindtree Ltd has secured a ₹3,000 crore (about $332 million) contract from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), marking the company’s third-largest deal in the past year. The seven-year mandate involves developing an AI-driven system to modernise India’s national tax analytics platform, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Friday.

LTIMindtree noted that the deal underscores its strength in delivering digital transformation through advanced data analytics and modern digital architecture, enabling real-time insights for policymakers. This is the firm’s second major engagement with the CBDT within a year. In August, it had won a ₹792 crore contract to revamp the country’s PAN infrastructure, covering backend IT operations such as security, automation, infrastructure management and ongoing support.

The latest win provides a boost for CEO Venu Lambu, who assumed leadership in June 2025 and has already overseen two large deals in under a year. Although the company does not issue revenue guidance, these contracts are expected to contribute incremental growth of up to 3.3 percent.

LTIMindtree shares rose nearly 5 percent in afternoon trade. Management is expected to discuss the deal during the third-quarter results announcement on January 19. The company’s India revenue is reported under its rest-of-world segment. The contract comes at a time when IT demand remains uneven due to macro uncertainty, global tax disputes and the disruptive impact of AI, with large government deals helping offset near-term pressures.
