A step toward bolstering the state’s creative economy was taken on Friday night with the ceremonial opening of the 11th Arunachal Film Festival (AFF) at TNZ Cinemas, Itanagar. The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organized this three-day event as a cultural effort of the state government to honor the state’s burgeoning film industry and showcase the artistic abilities of its filmmakers. Gabriel D. Wangsu, Minister of Agriculture and Allies, praised the DIPR for supporting the AFF over the past ten years. He expressed hope that this creative center for filmmakers would act as a lively window into the rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty of Arunachal.
The event was warmly attended by IPR Minister Nyato Dukam, Commissioner Nyali Ete, senior IPR department staff, and artists and filmmakers from several states. Along with other dignitaries, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and MLA and advisor Chau Zingnu Namchoom attended the opening film screening of “Chausang On – The Little Monk.”
