Tata AIG General Insurance Company has expanded its health insurance portfolio with the launch of MediCare Reserve, a Super Top-up health plan offering coverage of up to ₹5 crore. The company is positioning the product as a flexible solution for consumers seeking higher health protection amid rising medical inflation and evolving healthcare needs. The plan offers aggregate deductible options ranging from ₹3 lakh to ₹50 lakh and sum insured choices between ₹5 lakh and ₹5 crore. A key feature is the ‘Waiver of Aggregate Deductible’, which allows eligible policyholders to convert their Super Top-up cover into a comprehensive health insurance policy after five consecutive policy years without fresh underwriting. The insurer has also introduced optional benefits such as TransiCare Wallet for job-transition coverage, Pocket Protect for prolonged hospitalisation expenses and Consumables Benefit for specified non-medical costs.
According to Tata AIG, the product is aimed at professionals aged 18-55 years, particularly those dependent on employer-sponsored Group Medical Coverage (GMC). It also offers accident-related emergency hospitalisation coverage of up to ₹3 lakh for NRIs and OCIs visiting India. In Kohima, insurance advisors believe the growing awareness of healthcare costs and financial planning among salaried employees, business owners and professionals could support demand for flexible health insurance products. With more consumers seeking protection beyond employer-provided coverage, plans offering long-term security and high sum insured options are expected to gain traction in the Kohima market.
PankajShrivastava, Head – Agency & Health at Tata AIG, said MediCare Reserve combines affordability with long-term protection and reflects the company’s focus on making health insurance more flexible and future-ready. Backed by more than 262 locations, over 100,000 agents and a network of 13,000 hospitals, Tata AIG aims to strengthen its presence in India’s growing health insurance market.
