A workshop under the Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across State & Districts (TEJAS) initiative was conducted in Anini on Monday to encourage entrepreneurship and strengthen the startup ecosystem in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley district.
Organised by Startup India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the programme aimed to support aspiring entrepreneurs, startups and students by improving access to government schemes, funding opportunities and institutional support.
The workshop featured sessions by Rohan Sachdeva from Startup India and Sutanu Sen, Project Head of the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation & Investment Park (APIIP). The speakers guided participants through different stages of the entrepreneurial journey, including business ideation, innovation, funding, market linkages and sector-specific opportunities.
Participants were also introduced to various Startup India initiatives and informed about the benefits of obtaining DPIIT recognition, incubation support and access to national startup platforms.
Representatives from the State Bank of India (SBI) conducted a separate session on loan-related schemes available for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Officials from the district administration and the District Planning Office (DPO) also briefed participants on the role of the administration in promoting entrepreneurship and explained various central and state government schemes that support startups and self-employment.
More than 120 participants, including startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and students, attended the workshop.
The programme was organised jointly by Startup India, the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation & Investment Park and the Dibang Valley district administration.
TEJAS is a nationwide initiative designed to identify, nurture and support entrepreneurs from non-metro regions by providing access to mentorship, resources and institutional support. The initiative is currently being implemented across 132 districts in the country, with a focus on capacity building, strengthening local startup ecosystems and expanding entrepreneurial opportunities.
