Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to develop critical crude oil export infrastructure in Kuwait. The order comes as the Gulf nation continues efforts to expand its hydrocarbon production capacity.
According to the company, the project has been awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore and involves the EPC of six new crude oil storage tanks along with associated facilities. Each tank will have an operating capacity of 618,000 barrels. The project will be executed on a lump-sum turnkey basis.
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, the company’s EPC arm, undertakes upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon projects across global markets. The latest contract strengthens L&T’s position in the international energy sector and highlights its expertise in executing large-scale oil and gas infrastructure projects.
The new crude storage facilities are expected to support Kuwait Oil Company’s export capabilities and contribute to the country’s plans for expanding its energy infrastructure. The project also reflects the continued partnership between global engineering companies and energy producers in developing reliable and efficient hydrocarbon systems.
L&T said the order reinforces its growing presence in the Middle East’s energy market and demonstrates confidence in its ability to deliver complex projects involving advanced engineering solutions and large-scale infrastructure development.
