Micromax Arm Bhagwati Setting Up Mega Factories

Bhagwati Products, the manufacturing arm of Micromax, is ramping up its operations with plans to establish two new factories in Greater Noida under its joint venture with Chinese ODM leader Huaqin. These upcoming units will focus on assembling smartphones, tablets, servers, and IoT devices, while also venturing into component manufacturing, including displays and mechanics—signaling a shift towards deeper value addition.

Rahul Sharma, Co-founder of Bhagwati, confirmed that a new mobile and IoT factory will be operational within six months, while the existing plant, earlier acquired from Vivo, has scaled up its capacity from 1 million to 4.5 million units. A third facility is also being planned, likely to be one of India’s largest.

Bhagwati currently manufactures for top brands like Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme, and Motorola, and has started exporting Motorola tablets to the US. Joint ventures for component manufacturing are also in the pipeline, pending government approvals. The company aims to reach ₹15,000 crore revenue in FY26, driven by its smartphone, tablet, and wearable segments. With a workforce now exceeding 10,000, Bhagwati plans to invest $10 million in hiring and upskilling, while also pushing into R&D and premium manufacturing.
