CP Radhakrishnan, the Vice President of India, addressed the 8th Convocation of Nagaland University, highlighting the tripartite agreement among the Centre, Nagaland government, and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) as a significant milestone in resolving long-standing issues in eastern Nagaland. He noted that this agreement, initiated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is expected to foster positive change in the region. Emphasizing the importance of peace for development, Radhakrishnan urged for amicable resolutions to differences with mutual respect. He congratulated the graduates on the necessity for continuous learning in a rapidly changing world and commended Nagaland University for its contributions to higher education and the developmental progress in the Northeast under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. During his visit to Nagaland from March 6-8, alongside other dignitaries including the Nagaland Governor and Chief Minister, he also participated in upcoming convocations at Mizoram University and Tripura University, and planned interactions with women Self-Help Group members at the International Trade & Fair Centre in Tripura.
